uuugggghhhh...why does this have to be so difficult?!?

I've seen White Zombie listed as PD on numerous sites/lists and it's in all the multipack compliations...and I *think* it's even listed here on IA...

I contacted Mill Creek about their compliations...got a form letter reply back informing me that copyright status is "confidential" info and they don't disclose it...

wha?? huh?!?

:D

they might as well have told me that they plead the 5th!! copyright status is public record and if all their compliations are truely PD, then why not disclose it??

Mill Creek has stolen a lot of copyright films. Beast of Yellow Night is copyright; yet they distribute it.
Same story with Fury of the Wolf Man.

Never think something is PD, just because a distributor prints it.

I think I said I wasn't sure. But I am sure about checking feature film>sci-horror>browse collection or keywords.

I think pretty much anything on DVD from Alpha Video is in the public domain, with the exception of releases in their offshoot "Alpha New Cinema" line. As for Mill Creek, they've had to change out a couple of movies in their box sets when they were found later to be under copyright.
